Visible sparkle and SynthID

Updated

AiPixelClear restores the visible sparkle only. It does not remove SynthID.

How are the two watermarks different?

The visible sparkle is an overlay that you can see in a corner of a supported export. SynthID is an invisible provenance signal embedded in the content itself. They are separate mechanisms. This tool’s reverse-alpha method is calibrated to the visible overlay and does not remove the invisible signal.

Where can I learn about provenance?

Read Google DeepMind’s SynthID documentation for information about its provenance technology. Keep disclosures and source-platform requirements in mind when sharing AI-generated media.

Does this remove SynthID?

AiPixelClear removes only the visible sparkle. SynthID is Google’s invisible provenance watermark, embedded in the content itself and separate from that overlay. Reverse alpha blending acts on the visible mark’s known transparency pattern. This tool does not remove SynthID. Read the dedicated explainer for the visible and invisible watermark distinction.

Which marks are supported?

The supported mark is the visible four-point sparkle on original exports from Gemini, Nano Banana, Imagen and AI Studio images, and Gemini, Veo and Google Flow videos. A calibrated template must match and pass restoration checks. Use an original downloaded file with the full sparkle and surrounding corner intact.
